The 2022–23 UEFA Champions League will be the 68th season of UEFA's elite club football event, and the 31st since it was renamed the UEFA Champions League from the European Champion Clubs' Cup.
The final will take place in Istanbul, Turkey, at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium. The stadium was set to host the 2020 UEFA Champions League Final, however because to the COVID-19 epidemic, both that event and the 2021 final, which was ultimately re-allocated to the Atatürk, were rescheduled. The winner of the 2022–23 UEFA Champions League will be automatically qualified for the 2023–24 UEFA Champions League group stage, as well as earning the chance to compete in the 2023 UEFA Super Cup against the winner of the 2022–23 UEFA Europa League.

The playoff round will be held on August 16/17 and 23/34.
There are no clubs from the top European leagues in these rounds. These clubs have agreed to participate in the Champions League Group Stage.
Dates for the 2022-23 Champions League Group Stage
On August 25, 2022, the draw for the 2022-23 Champions League Group Stage will take held. Each team will play six games, with each group of four playing each other at home and away. Each group's top two teams advance, while the third-place finishers are relegated to the UEFA Europa League.
The following are the Group Stages dates for 2022-23, which are all Tuesday and Wednesday evenings:

- October 4-5

- November 1-2
Because of the World Cup, which is also prompting big adjustments to the 2022-23 Premier League calendar, these dates are earlier than in other years, including the 2021-22 Champions League.
